GREPF Manway Seal Replacement Procedure
The grease pressurised follower manway seal is a critical component in maintaining the internal pressure and operational performance of the grease system. A well functioning seal is essential to prevent leakage, and protect the system from external contaminants. This guide provides a step-by-step procedure to safely remove, inspect, and replace the manway seal, ensuring grease pressurised follower continues to function properly.
Manway Seal is fitted between the GREPF Body and Lid component.
To replace the Manway Seal we need to remove the related components that are installed between the lid and the body of the GREPF. Related components are: air hose, sight tube, clamp band and fastener.
Prepare Support tools like dust cloth, 24mm Wrench, Screwdriver, Lifting instrument support.
Mark the initial position of the Lid, Sight Tube and related components with a marker to help with the installation process.
1. Unscrew hose clamp and disconnect the sight tube fitting.
We also need to prepare the wire volume level indicator to be removed when the lid is lifted.
2. Unplug the air hose from pressure gauge.
Clear the Lid area from the air hose.
3. Unclamp the clamp band and remove it
4. Tie the strap to the lifting hole on the GREPF lid.
Make sure other components, especially the pressure gauge and low pressure/vacuum vent, are in safe condition.
If it is dangerous, remove the instrument first.
5. Make sure the strap installation is optimal, lift the lid and other components and position them in a clear area.
The Pressure Follower Mechanism can be separated from the Lid which is lifted by removing the chain follower which is connected to the Lid part.
6. Remove and secure all the components. Replace Manway Seal with the new one. During replacement, clean the surfaces that come into contact between components, especially in the Gasket area.
7. Check the surface of the GREPF Body and Lid where the manway seal is attached, make sure it is in a flat, clean condition and there are no defects that could cause the manway seal to malfunction.
Pressure Pallet Gasket Reassembly Procedure
1. Check All component
Make sure all components are complete & in good condition. Make sure all components are in the right position and functioning properly.
2. Clean Manway Seal and others contact surface. Place the seal in position.
NOTE: Care must be taken when handling and storing Manway Seal and measurement mechanism.
DO NOT GLUE TEFLON PALLETS.
3. Reassembly pressure follower, Level Indicator & lid GREPF.
Take advantage of the markings made as a reference for positioning the GREPF Lid.
4. Install and ensure that the indicator level matches the measurement level and that the sight gauge is free from visually disturbing stains.
5. Plug in the air hose to pressure gauge.
Make sure the air pipe line is in the existing position.
6. Install the clamp band and tighten it alternately between the clamps so that the clamp ties evenly.
Note:
After the unit is installed, double check that all components are installed correctly.
Testing of each instrument function (level indicator, pressure gauge & regulator and low pressure vacuum vent) is used to ensure everything is working properly.
Regular inspection and timely replacement of this seal are essential to prevent unplanned downtime and maintain overall operational safety. Always check the operations manual for detailed requirements and documentation protocols to ensure full compliance with safety standards.
